iRacing companion app launcher

Auto-launch SimHub, CrewChief and overlays with iRacing

Stop manually opening each app before every session. SimLauncher starts iRacing together with SimHub, Crew Chief, overlays, and rig software - in the right order, every time.

SimLauncher Windows App - Dashboard with sim racing profiles

The iRacing companion app launcher sim racers actually needed

If you race iRacing seriously, your startup ritual probably looks something like this: launch iRacing, then SimHub, then Crew Chief, then the overlay, then MOZA Pit House or whatever wheelbase software you use. Every single session. SimLauncher collapses that entire sequence into one click.

Create an iRacing profile with all your companion apps in order. Set delays between them so nothing starts before it's ready. From then on, one button launches your entire setup - iRacing, SimHub, Crew Chief, overlays, bass shaker controllers, VR tools, all of it.

Need separate configs for VR vs triples? Create two profiles: "iRacing VR" and "iRacing Triples". Different apps, different rig software, same one-click experience.

How to auto-launch SimHub and CrewChief with iRacing

  1. 1

Open SimLauncher - iRacing is already there

SimLauncher detects installed sims automatically. iRacing appears on the Launcher tab without any manual setup. Click the settings icon next to it to open the profile configuration.

  2. 2

    Add your companion apps

Enable SimHub, Crew Chief, and any other tools in the companion app list for your iRacing profile - overlays, telemetry apps, rig software like MOZA Pit House or Fanatec Fanalab. Each can be toggled per profile independently.

  3. 3

    Set launch order and delays

Drag apps into the order you want them to start. Set a delay of 2-5 seconds after SimHub so it fully initialises before iRacing loads. Crew Chief should also start before the sim so race data is available from lap one.

  4. 4

Hit Launch - your full rig starts in one click

From now on, one button starts your entire iRacing setup in the right sequence. Every app, every session, every time - no manual steps, no forgotten launches, no missing overlay data when you cross the start line.

Built for complex sim racing rigs

Engineered to manage high-end rigs, VR setups, and motion platforms.

SimLauncher is for you if:

  • You run multiple sims (iRacing, AC, ACC, AMS2, etc.)
  • You switch between different setups (VR vs triples, motion on/off, etc.)
  • You use multiple companion apps (SimHub, CrewChief, overlays, telemetry, wheelbase software...)
  • You care about launch order, delays, and reliability
  • You want a single click to go from desktop to fully ready rig

Probably not for you if:

  • You run one sim and one or two apps
  • You're fine with everything starting with Windows
  • You don't need different setups
  • You don't care about launch order or coordination between apps

Common Questions

How do I auto-launch SimHub with iRacing?

Open SimLauncher, go to your iRacing profile settings, add SimHub to the companion app list, and set a launch delay of 2–5 seconds before iRacing starts. That's it. From then on, SimHub starts automatically every time you open that profile - dashboards and overlays are live before you're in the car. When iRacing closes, SimLauncher can shut SimHub down too so it's not running in the background.

Can I launch Crew Chief automatically with iRacing?

Yes. Crew Chief is a built-in companion app slot in SimLauncher. Add it to your iRacing profile, set it to launch before the sim, and give it a few seconds delay so it has time to connect before you load into a session. From lap one, strategy data and fuel calculations are already coming through. You can run Crew Chief before or after SimHub - SimLauncher gives you full control over the order.

What if I use different setups for iRacing (VR vs triples)?

Create two separate profiles - 'iRacing VR' and 'iRacing Triples'. Each one has its own list of companion apps, launch order, and delay settings, completely independent from each other. The VR profile can start your VR runtime and motion software; the triples profile can skip those and load different SimHub dashboards instead. Switch between them in one click, no manual adjustments needed.

Is SimLauncher free?

Yes, fully free. No subscription, no premium version, no feature locks. SimLauncher is open-source under GPL v3 - the code is on GitHub and you can inspect it before installing. It supports 21+ sims, per-game profiles, configurable launch order, custom delays, auto-close on exit, and native slots for SimHub, Crew Chief, and any other tool you use. Built by a sim racer for the community.
